The weekend celebration will be started at Uptown Friday Night.
The featured band was, "Well Lit", and were they ever. A fantastic band playing classic rock in their own style. Great music, great equipment, and great musicians!
From the Uptown website: Well Lit started out as a couple of bothers and friends playing in a basement and the occasional private party. In 2006 family and friends pushed them to play for the public. In April of 2006 Well Lit hit the public stage. Now a little over a year later they have become one of Cedar Rapids favorite bands. With a mix of classic rock songs and great dance tunes, once you see Well Lit, you’ll be a fan too. The Well Lit music selection is brought about from the music the band members grew up with. Playing music from Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Who and The Rolling Stones you get the sense of their rock beginnings. Always having other strong music interest, the band now is able express those too. So music from The Beatles, Tom Petty, Rare Earth, Queen and Cheap Trick are regulars in the show. Bring your dance shoes and be ready to party when you come out to see Well Lit. You’ll know every song and it’s always a great time!! Well Lit is William Peters, Randy Schneekloth, Parry Dahl and Scott Schneekloth.

Goodbye C.B. Vernon Junior High
C.B. Vernon will be torn down to make way for progress, but the class of 1982 got together to say goodbye to our old school. |
